This paper studies the way in which the entertainment industry controls the publishing market through market niches, which are disguised through a cultural discourse that relates the promoted work to the literature of the Latin American boom. When analyzing the ideology of these market niches, we find that the reader’s morbidity is exploited through pornofeminist fictions. This type of literature promotes the poverty porn market and the consumption of sexist stereotypes that denigrate the problem of gender violence.
