Resumen

MALDONADO, Carlos Eduardo. Learning the original knowledge in Abya-Yala as a key to a new civilization. Inter disciplina [online]. 2025, vol.13, n.36, pp.19-37.  Epub 06-Oct-2025. ISSN 2448-5705.  https://doi.org/10.22201/ceiich.24485705e.2025.36.91338.

The collapse of the western civilization is currently taking place and, at the same time, the birth of a new civilization. This paper claims that learning from and about the original knowledges from Abya-Yala is the key for understanding the emergence of a new civilization. Such as a particular characteristic of Our America, that the Global North does not possess, given the richness of ethnicity, languages, knowledges and traditions still perfectly alive. The arguments supporting the formulated thesis are the following: first, it is possible to carry out a synthesis of knowledge, something in contrast to the classic and current methods of education; second, the emphasis is therefore placed on learning and not, in any way, on education; third, knowing how to live well, one of the characteristic features of the new civilization, constitutes an attribute of authentic wisdom, far beyond science or philo- sophy. Each argument is justified along the text. At the end, some conclusions are drawn.
