The text is a general, descriptive and panoramic approach of the presence and participation of women in the institutional policy of Mexico City in recent decades and now. Firstly, a count of its quantitative historic evolution in political office. Secondly, there is an exhibition of men’s and women’s political culture and electoral preferences in that city today. Also, the paper studied women in politics and public opinion according to sex, in 2012 and 2018. The first point consists of the progress towards reaching parity. With regard to the second point, the research shows how, for some matter, there is gender-biased, however in many political culture characteristics, the similarities between the sexes are more important.
