Objective:

To study the innovation from the systemic approach in the apple agri-food sector, supported by the hypothesis that the acceptability of innovations depends on the agricultural practices learned and the resources dedicated to its application, by some socio-economic variables of the producer and for the functioning of fruit markets.

Methodology:

It is applied an index of acceptability of technological innovation is applied to identify and measure the process of acceptance of technological practices, and the existence of a relationship between socio-economic variables with the innovative profile of the producer is explored. Personal interviews were conducted, with a structured questionnaire to 44 producers -22 from an organization and 22 not organized.

Results:

Producers are identified, incorporating the innovation of the improved apple system, obtaining an acceptability index of 0.58 units, rated as excellent, which accounts for the incorporation of innovative agricultural practices along with the surface that the producer dedicates.

Limitations:

The need complement the study with other apple producing regions, in the estate of Puebla.

Conclusions:

In addition to the high acceptability index, is identified the existence of a relationship between the variables experience as apple producer, income obtained, the market to which the three variables with statistical significance (p <0.05) concur with the innovative profile of the producer.
