This work analyzes the government programs to support the countryside in the Comarca Lagunera of Durango, their origin, coverage, destination, follow-up and impacts. The research was conducted with a case study approach. Eighty-nine producers were interviewed through the design and application of a questionnaire. There was little follow-up to the programs due to the weak agricultural extension system in the region. The resources that the Federal Government has allocated to support the countryside have not been reflected in the fulfillment of the main objective of the Program for the Promotion of Agriculture to increase the productivity of production units.
