MELLADO IBARRA, César Iván y SANCHEZ TOVAR, Yesenia. Approach to informal entrepreneurship in Tamaulipas. Cienc. ergo-sum [online]. 2024, vol.31, e216. Epub 04-Feb-2025. ISSN 2395-8782. https://doi.org/10.30878/ces.v31n0a1.
The present study aimed to characterize informal entrepreneurship in Tamaulipas by identifying the motivations and effects of informal economic activity on women entrepreneurs. The study was carried out through 4 in-depth interviews with women owners of newly created businesses that were not formally registered. The findings allow us to identify that the main reason for informal entrepreneurship is the lack of job opportunities, or jobs with low wages. It was found that not being formally constituted is due to the lack of knowledge of the advantages that the operation in a regulatory framework generates.
