The international trade of Mexican coffee is analyzed as a symbol of competitiveness, particularly in the European Union market and its main destinations (Germany, Italy, Spain and France), in addition to the influence of price as a demand factor based on data from imports and exports, as well as the sale price. Ex post indicators are considered, such as the Revealed Comparative Advantage and the coefficient of comparative advantage of the suppliers, in addition to the price elasticity of demand. It was found that competitiveness has decreased internationally; however, a slight improvement has been reported in the European market in recent years and coffee consumption in the countries analyzed does not respond to price fluctuations.
