Considering, on the one hand, the lack of pluralism in economics’ teaching and, on the other hand, the predominance of an economic theory with very distant assumptions from reality and its exclusive, hermetic and unchangeable position towards any other contribution with a different economic perspective. This article seeks, from a precise literature review, to introduce the reader to Post Keynesian principles, presenting concise concepts on his current economic position and the actual state of the art, as a critic and alternative to mainstream economic analysis. Also a taxonomy of the Post Keynesian School is made to differentiate it from the dominant orthodox approach and finally, it explains the notion of the monetary economy of production.
