Absorptive capacity and innovation have been identified as triggers of organizational performance; However, behind every collective entity is the individual who has been neglected in the literature. Therefore, the objective of this research was to determine the effects that absorptive capacity and innovation have on organizational performance at the individual level. In the first two months of 2021, 100 questionnaires were collected from managers of the manufacturing industry of Tamaulipas to later be analyzed with a model of structural equations with analysis of variance, evidencing positive effects of absorptive capacity and innovation in organizational performance, as well as a positive effect of the absorptive capacity in innovation. In conclusion, a new perspective of the study of the variables addressed is opened and progress is made in the knowledge of the individual, laying the foundations to maximize his or her potential in organizations.
