The use of Streptomyces is an important strategy for the control of postharvest diseases caused by Colletotrichum. The objective of this study was to evaluate the in vitro antifungal activity of actinobacterial isolates against C. gloeosporioides and identify those with higher activity by sequencing the 16S rRNA gene. The experiments were performed using a completely randomized design with three replications for each isolate: BVEZ series (76 isolates) and serial BVEZMW (122 isolates). Molecular identification was performed by Sanger sequencing using the 16S rRNA gene. The results showed that 28 and 21% of the isolates exhibited antifungal activity against C. gloeosporioides for the BVEZ and BVEZMW series, respectively. Molecular identification revealed that the five outstanding isolates belong to the genus Streptomyces. The Streptomyces spp. in this study could be a source of antifungal secondary metabolites with potential for the control of anthracnose caused by C. gloeosporioides.
