Abstract

Trichoderma spp. and Bacillus spp. are used as biofertilizers in agriculture because they are growth promoters and inducers of the plant defense system. In this work, the biofertilizing effect of combinations of endophytic coffee species (Trichoderma, Bacillus) and 50 and 100% NPK fertilization in the cultivation of maize (Zea mays) was evaluated. The variables that were measured were plant height, dry weight of roots, stems, leaves, and yield. The results showed that the Trichoderma and Bacillus species combined with 50% fertilization promoted growth and increased grain yield in the corn crop, outperforming the absolute control and the 100% fertilization treatment. The application of Trichoderma and Bacillus increases corn yield and reduces the application of chemical fertilizer doses by up to 50%.
