MARQUEZ-QUIROZ, César et al. Shade nets: an alternative to increase the cherry tomato production. Ecosistemas y recur. agropecuarios [online]. 2014, vol.1, n.2, pp.175-180. ISSN 2007-901X.
The use of shade nets in protected horticulture is an economic technique that improves radiation and prevents temperature increases. The effect of the use of shade nets of four colours (blue, black, red and pearl) on the production of cherry tomato was evaluated in this study. The yield obtained with the pearl shade net increased 116.66 % compared with that obtained with the black shade net and 122.85 % compared with the control (with no net). According to the results of this study, the pearl shade net is considered a viable alternative in the production of cherry tomato.
