CALLA-CHOQUE, Dandy y RODRIGUEZ-ARAGON, José María. Indium Leaching with Pyrophosphate from Industrial Jarosite. Epistemus (Sonora) [online]. 2023, vol.17, n.34, pp.99-106. Epub 08-Dic-2023. ISSN 2007-8196. https://doi.org/10.36790/epistemus.v17i34.272.
Jarosite is produced in nature, in humid environments, and in the presence of sulfides. In addition, it is produced as a precipitate in some metallurgical processes as a treatment method for some solutions to control the iron present in acid solutions. The precipitates formed as jarosite have contents of some metals of interest such as gold, silver, and indium (In). In this work, the effect of pH, pyrophosphate concentration, and time is studied on the indium leaching at room temperature from industrial jarosite is presented. The indium content in the jarosite was 26.8 g/t, where 89.5% (In) was recovered at pH 7, in a 0.1 M pyrophosphate solution at 60 minutes of leaching. The analysis of results includes a statistical analysis.
