Resumen

OCAMPO SARAVIA, Tania. Guerra y desaparición forzada de infantes en El Salvador (1980-1984). Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2013, vol.8, n.15, pp.186-216. ISSN 2007-8110.

The forced disappearance of children during the war in El Salvador, is an example of the systematic violations of human rights that many Latin American authoritarian governments exerted against the population which had been formed as its opposition. In this sense, it can refer to the cases of Guatemala in Central America, and Argentina in South America that also occurred infant disappearances. Thus, we find that the arguments out lined by the Salvadoran government, are similar to other authoritarian states expressed to the same practice. These had to do with the defense of national security and stability, with the struggle against the internal enemy, according to them, ravaged their nations. As with the use of horror and annihilation as a "technology of power" aimed at the destruction and the "reorganization of social relations" to impose other more akin to their own ideology.
