Abstract
HEAU-LAMBERT, Catherine and RAJCHENBERG S., Enrique. La reivindicación política de los conceptos de raza e indianidad en el zapatismo y neozapatismo. Cultura representaciones soc [online]. 2013, vol.7, n.14, pp.46-66. ISSN 2007-8110.
The notion of race is inextricably linked to the institution of a colonial and neocolonial power. It constitutes the privileged mode of classification and differentiation of oppressed populations by assigning them traits that designate a supposed natural inferiority in relation to the dominating societies. However, in this article we claim, based on the analysis of the Zapatistas movements of the early and late twentieth century, ie neozapatismo, that the idea of race and its concrete expression, the notion of "indio", can be resignified by the subordinates in order to construct an identity that allows the cohesion required to question the power and exploitation relations justified by racism.
Keywords : racism; dominated; Zapatistas; indigenous Mexico.
