Mexico's and Morocco's geopolitical position of as border countries between the north and the global south has transformed them into two strategic countries for two main factors: the intense flux of transnational of capital from the United States and the European Union and their role as laboratories where multinationals have implemented security policies, aimed at containing threats that can undermine the global north. In the regional context, the immigration safety policies of that that are in place in Morocco and Mexico, enables us to outline the geoeconomic processes, transnational relations and transnational policies between the north and the global south. This research analyzed the effects of immigration safety policies implemented in recent years in the Mexico-US and Morocco-Spain-European Union borders. Results show a common trend based on securitization and the undermining of migrant and refugee population's freedom and rights.
