Resumen

SOLANO VAZQUEZ, Eduardo. Frantz Fanon’s thoughts on the liberation of human beings. Entrediversidades rev. cienc. soc. humanid. [online]. 2024, vol.21, e202406.  Epub 11-Oct-2024. ISSN 2007-7610.  https://doi.org/10.31644/ed.iei.v21.2024.ea01.

The work of the Martinican thinker Frantz Fanon is full of references to liberation, so this text examines this concept from the perspective of the self. Liberation implies that the human being has to confront his history. In this sense, Fanon postulates that the political intervention of the masses, as excluded and violated, is of utmost importance, since it is through this political action that the masses will historically inscribe their being. Thus, in order to understand Fanon’s thought, it was decided to start from his psychiatric perspective, and then approach it from the political question. It should be noted that, from the interpretation, it was possible to detect that liberation in Fanon has two inseparable moments: the subjective-mental and the revolution or politics. However, liberation is not an absurd act and even less outdated, since discrimination and exploitation of the masses persist as minorities: women, workers, migrants.
