The objective of this document is to evaluate the dynamic disparity in the per capita income levels of the member economies of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) during the period 1950-2022. To address this, we start from the GDP per capita PPP databases of the Maddison Project (2023) to carry out a spatial analysis of dynamic disparity through the estimation of sigma convergence (σ), a methodological proposal by Barro & Sala-i-Martin (1991). Analyzing income disparities is crucial to understanding the dynamics of growth in the region. The results show a clear trend in the reduction of the disparity in the levels of GDP per capita PPP of the economies, a process reinforced after the establishment of APEC in 1989, suggesting that the region can be considered as a convergence club.
