Virtual communities are groups of people interacting individually and collectively in digital spaces, where they find common interest groups, information, emotional support, leisure activities, etc. These have become in recent years an object of interest for research in psychology due to the forms of communication and behavior that people establish in them, so the objective of this research was to build and validate a psychometric instrument that measures the ways in which young people interact in virtual communities. For this, two studies were carried out, an exploratory factorial analysis, with a sample of 300 young Mexicans, and a confirmatory factorial analysis, with 398 participants, resulting in the Virtual Communities Scale, with four factors: sense of belonging, information, social support, and training. with an explained variance of 58.28% and an adequate McDonald Omega reliability index. The fit indices of the Structural Model confirmed the structure of the Scale. Therefore, it is concluded that a valid and reliable scale was obtained for the evaluation of Virtual Communities.
