Abstract
GARCIA ALVARADO, Marisol; OCHOA ADAME, Gloria Lizeth and TORRES GARCIA, Aldo Josafat. Innovate or Disappear: The ICT Revolution in Mexican Companies. PAAKAT: rev. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2025, vol.15, n.29, e920. Epub Nov 11, 2025. ISSN 2007-3607. https://doi.org/10.32870/pk.a15n29.920.
This study analyzes the impact of ICT adoption on the productivity of Mexican firms during the period 2003 to 2018. For this purpose, econometric techniques are used with data from the economic censuses conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) in this period. Since we have temporal information from various economic sectors, the method includes longitudinal data panel analysis techniques, which allows us to measure how ICT adoption influences productivity, both per person employed and per hour worked. The data includes diverse industries and firm sizes, providing a broad view of the business landscape in Mexico. The main findings indicate that an increase in ICT adoption is associated with a 35.67% increase in productivity per person employed and a 37.11% increase per hour worked.
