COLLADO-CAMPOS, Alejandra Nallely. Review of the issue of digital violence during the pandemic by COVID in Mexico. PAAKAT: rev. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2024, vol.14, n.27, e856.  Epub 22-Out-2024. ISSN 2007-3607.  https://doi.org/10.32870/pk.a14n27.856.

The objective of this work is exploratory and reflective in nature, and it investigates the issue of digital violence present during the COVID pandemic in Mexico. Concepts such as gender violence, sexist violence, and digital violence are addressed. Based on the review of the topic of digital violence during the COVID pandemic in Mexico, some expressions and acts of sexist violence manifested in the digital public space during the pandemic are analyzed, as well as certain media, institutional, and political discourses that justified such violence. It’s argued that digital violence, rather than a typology to classify a new form of violence, is one of the many ways in which structural and systemic inequalities become apparent, another space in which this social and structural phenomenon adapts and assimilates with new strategies and forms of organization of violence and oppression.

Palavras-chave : continuum of violence; digital feminist activism; digital violence; digital public space; feminisms.
