Resumen

RUEDA-CASTRO, Laura. Exploration of the ethical climate among students in the School of Occupational Therapy. Rev. iberoam. educ. super [online]. 2012, vol.3, n.6, pp.128-137. ISSN 2007-2872.

The work we present consists of two parts. The first one ponders the interconnection-at an ethical level-between the development of interpersonal relationships and their foray into the arena of academic life. Also, it explores the functions attributed to the university on the subject and especially the mission of the School of Occupational Therapy (Escuela de Terapia Ocupacional or ETO) in training in values for a professional future. In the second part, using the method of qualitative analysis, we present a diagnosis of the ethical climate perceived by first-level students in the School. This responds to the need to elaborate a training proposal in ethical values, geared towards the creation of a citizenry interested in delving into lifestyles that protect health. In the discipline of occupational therapy that we explore in our training, democratic and inclusive values are fundamental principles for people in disadvantaged situations. For this reason, it is a top priority to develop competencies in values, starting from an ethics-training model, which take place in a university climate in theory and in practice.

Palabras llave : ethical climate; occupational therapy; ethics training.
