In this paper the concept of archive is not treated just as a simple form of register, but rather as a series of aesthetic and ethical-political practices that are aimed to influence upon the memory/history framework that has come to conform a paradigm. Through a brief historical-genealogical conceptual trip, a theoretical route is suggested in order to be able to interrogate ourselves about the ethical and epistemological bases of the archive practices in the contemporary context.
