Abstract

This article analyzes the relationship between capital allocation and local development in four municipalities of the region east of Guatemala. The four municipalities analyzed share the characteristic of having experienced a significant reduction in poverty levels. The da-products used come from surveys of living conditions conducted in the four municipalities of the region, as well as surveys of living conditions nationwide. In that sense do you compare the allocation of capital, in various forms, of the four municipalities to the national average. This comparison shows that the four municipalities have to raise additional capital which favored its local development. The main conclusion to be drawn is that the local development depends on having a large endowment of capital in its various forms.
