Abstract

During Virreinato, the indigenous societies lived a territorial reordering that moved away them of its ancient establishments to be congregated in "towns of Indians", in agreement with the patterns of establishment imposed by the conquerors. The new organization generated conficts by the land and the space that were shaped in paintings of end of XVI and beginning of the XVII century elaborated by tlacuiloque. In them we can appreciate the way in which the indians "watched" and at the same time reappropriated the space that the new pictorial conventions arrived at the New World from the West side. In the present article three paintings are analyzed that for give account of before mentioned.
