The main purpose of this article is to present a diplomatic document of notable relevance for the understanding of Mexican post-revolutionary foreign policy and its management by one of its most recognized directors: Genaro Estrada. The rescue and analysis in the context of this document, a confidential report derived from an important meeting between the Mexican Foreign Minister and the also prominent American ambassador Dwight W. Morrow in August 1928, can allow us to question absolute and orthodox understandings with which Mexican foreign policy and diplomacy is usually explained and even presented in rhetorical terms. The consultative interpretation that this article gives to the interview between Estrada and Morrow regarding various issues of international politics specific to the interwar period and the possible place of these two countries in that plane, points towards a concerted procedure on the part of the post-revolutionary regime.
