GOMEZ TAGLE LOPEZ, Erick  and  CASTILLO FERNANDEZ, Dídimo. Sociology of Disability. Tla-melaua [online]. 2016, vol.10, n.40, pp.176-194. ISSN 2594-0716.

Disability is the loss or reduction of physical, mental or sensory abilities, arising from an anatomical, physiological or psychological deficiency, which limits, hinders or impedes the realization of daily activities.

In adverse environments and facing the lack of opportunities, situations of social disability can arise, which force us to rethink, from the social sciences, situations of exclusion, discrimination and abuse toward this population.

It seeks to make their rights effective, from the ideology of the deficit to the paradigm of difference.

Keywords : Disability; Discrimination; Human Rights; Gender Equity; Social Integration.
