In this paper two mechanisms of oil price shocks on natural gas prices are evaluated of oil price shocks on natural gas prices (unidirectional way and transmission channels). These pathways have been used to investigate the influence and divergence between both prices. It is evident that oil prices affect direct and significantly in the long term. However, those prices are not connected in the short term by using Structural Vector Error Correction methodology (SVEC) (based on quarterly information: 1992 to 2011. It is also considered three natural gas prices: United States, Russia and Japan.
