Vascular plants contribute to satisfy various human needs and are part of the identity of rural communities. However, they have been little studied in the context of the socioeconomic transformations of the countryside. Therefore, the objective of this research was to identify the anthropic uses of vascular plants in the southeast of the State of Mexico. Through a mixed methodology, semi-structured interviews were carried out, applied to 170 women and 105 men, who were asked about their knowledge and uses of wild and cultivated plants, through the ethnobotanical method, the taxon was collected, and it was identified with specialized botanical keys. 118 species were identified on which uses, knowledge and associated beliefs were determined. The use of plants is related to local knowledge that leads to differentiated uses of each plant, their future use depends on the local capacity to reproduce knowledge about these resources.
Keywords : trees and shrubs; local knowledge; local uses.
