FLORES-HERNANDEZ, Aurelia; CUATEPOTZO-CORTES, Landy Ley y ESPEJEL-RODRIGUEZ, Adelina. Money management and control, and other achievements: returning migrant women in Tlaxcala, México. agric. soc. desarro [online]. 2012, vol.9, n.3, pp.261-295. ISSN 1870-5472.
In this study, we reflect upon the changes generated in migrant women who return to a rural locality in the state of Tlaxcala, México, derived from their migratory experience. Based on the women's opinion, we were interested in clarifying whether their ability to earn a living where they migrated to, would be adopted as a long-term skill, necessary to face challenges after returning. In short, we explore whatever underlies the management and control of money while being abroad and once back. It is a qualitative study, based on the contributions of migration and empowerment, from the approach of gender relations.
