Resumen
TREJO NIETO, Alejandra y NEGRETE, María Eugenia. Productive dynamics and industrial clusters in the Central Region of Mexico. Región y sociedad [online]. 2018, vol.30, n.73, 0013. ISSN 2448-4849. https://doi.org/10.22198/rys.2018.73.a905.
The article’s aim is to analyze production structure in Mexico’s central region, its economic performance and the main changes in the 2003-2011 period. Based on a regional input-output matrix, estimated for 2003, sectoral clusters are identified using the main components method; six were found, the most important of which are advanced and consumer services, mainly concentrated in Mexico City. Although the methodology employed is based only on the strength of purchase-sale cross-sectional transactions, this analysis can reveal the forms of economic and business organization in the region, in order to deal with competitive pressures concerning its economic development and growth.
