Abstract

CHAVEZ-SOLCA, Fernando  and  DAIN, Andrés. Some Reflections about Political Representation. A Look from the Post-Foundationalism. CONfines relacion. internaci. ciencia política [online]. 2017, vol.13, n.25, pp.11-30.  Epub Jan 20, 2025. ISSN 1870-3569.

The present work aims to approach a political phenomenon whose role has been growing in modern political systems: political representation. Political science has not reached a consensus on the meaning of this political link. On the other hand, political representation is still a phenomenon in which disputes over their meaning are open. From a poststructuralist perspective, this work will try to demonstrate, as opposed to canonical approaches of political science, how can you think of representation as a mutually constitutive relationship between representatives and represented, in which the identity of both is changed permanently in order to think about democracy.

Keywords : representation; postfoundationalism; political identities; democracy.
