Abstract
QUIROGA, María Virginia. Bolivian Institutional Refounding between XX and XXI centuries. The Complex Coexistence between Rupture and Recomposition. CONfines relacion. internaci. ciencia política [online]. 2016, vol.12, n.22, pp.79-100. Epub Jan 10, 2025. ISSN 1870-3569.
The aim of this article is to analyze the recent Bolivian political experience, considering two important categories: rupture and re-composition. Based on the works of Ernesto Laclau and Jacques Rancière, we argue that the Movimiento Al Socialismo-Instrumento Político por la Soberanía de los Pueblos (MAS-IPSP) shows a critical lecture about the past and a perspective of future that tries to develop new institutions for the inclusion of historically excluded social sectors. Nevertheless, we are not talking about a complete process without tensions; on the contrary, the renewed Community´s institutions coexist with institutions of the old order.
Keywords : social movements; dislocation; MAS-IPSP; populist articulation; State-Institutions.
