The general aim of this article is to present preliminary results of a doctoral research in the fields of discourse analysis and history of ideas about the political traditions of the first Kirchnerism (2003-2007). In the framework of this research, we investigate the imaginary relationships established by the Argentine government between seventies’ youth militancy and democracy, taking into account the public speeches of former President Néstor Kirchner. We try to demonstrate how the official discourse interprets the seventies militancy in terms of a democratic program and a democratic culture postponed due the implementation of neoliberalism (1976-2001). We affirm, finally, that this democratic “anachronism” is an inseparable dimension of the refundacional gesture of first Kirchnerism, based on a generational cleavage.
