CORDERO MARINES, Liliana. Interactions, Connections, and Bridges between Indigenous Peoples of Canada and Mexico, 1995-2023. Norteamérica [online]. 2024, vol.19, n.2, pp.341-361.  Epub 20-Out-2025. ISSN 2448-7228.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cisan.24487228e.2024.2.692.

The aim of this text is to highlight the characteristics of the interactions between the Indigenous populations residing in what is now known as Canada and Mexico. Despite their differences, both face similar contexts arising from systemic dispossession dynamics. Based on a qualitative, bibliographic research, the various contexts in which these populations converge and engage are examined from 1995 to 2023. It is argued that there are two types of approaches. On one hand, those occurring within the framework of governments, their institutions, and initiatives. On the other hand, those taking place at the margins of such jurisdictions, under the influence of global Indigenous political movements, which are critical of national states and their exclusionary dynamics.

Palavras-chave : indigenous interactions between Canada and Mexico; national states; extra-state contexts; common issues.
