Resumen
HAIDAR, Victoria. Contributions for a genealogy of the leader of the crowds in the psychosocial thought of the south and the north: an analysis from the perspective of simultaneity. Polis [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.1, pp.133-162. Epub 27-Jun-2025. ISSN 2594-0686. https://doi.org/10.24275/uam/izt/dcsh/polis/2023v19n1/haidar.
The article revisits the contributions that R. Nina Rodrigues, E. da Cunha, J. M. Ramos Mejía and P. Rossi made, between 1897 and 1904, to the psychosocial problematization of leadership. Through a comparative analysis, which emphasizes the «contemporary» nature of the productions considered, the article: a) advances in the reconstruction of the ways in which, in the same historical period, authors from the «South» and the «North» thought the figure of leaders whose authority does not depend on a formal investiture, but on the acceptance that provide the people, and b) shows that those elaborations allow to qualify and make more complex the psychosocial conception of leadership that is identified, in a reductionist way, with the French psychology of the masses.
