This paper seeks to develop the issue of the right of parents to decide concretely on the education of their children, having as main reference, their own moral and religious convictions as an expression of a family model that should be the basis and the ultimate goal of society. This fundamental right of parents is closely related to the right to religious freedom that both parents and children have. Recently in Peru a “draft law” has been discussed that seeks to expressly recognize what the Peruvian constitution already states, giving parents the right to choose the sexual education their children receive, in the face of the new ideologies in educational and sexual matters that are taught in educational centers and that often collide with the religious convictions of the family. This is a real challenge in Peru today.
