This article thematizes on how the evolution of the image and the screen, affected by technological use, inferred in the understanding of our space, culture, and visual baggage. Those reflections are transferred to examples and key moments in the contemporary situation. The screen as a filter of reality has been instituted, but the theories about it don’t match the social effects it has provoked and keeps provoking in the development and conformation of contemporary societies in a global level. We propose to expose the conditions that define the link between city and screen in this contemporary space-time that inevitably reconfigures our ways of perception and critique.
