This paper seeks to identify the cultural elements involved in shaping the identity of rural youthfrom eight communities in the state of Puebla. This was conducted through simple random sampling with young men and women from these communities. As part of the results identified that the young people build a particular style from the appropriation of specific musical genres, the preference for certain television programs and the use of clothing that distinguishes them from the rest of the population.
