Abstract
HERNANDEZ-GONZALEZ, Eduardo and ALFARO-BERACOECHEA, Laura Nadhielii. Living Conditions, Satisfaction and Future Expectations in Young People from Mexico, Spain and Ecuador. A Comparative Study. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2023, vol.13, n.24, 00021. Epub Jan 27, 2025. ISSN 2007-8846. https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl132420231481.
This article carries out a comparative analysis of the perception of living conditions and future expectations of young Internet users from Mexico, Ecuador and Spain. We carried out an observational, retrospective study with a descriptive and correlational scope; applying an online questionnaire prepared by the Ibero-American Research Network on Youths (2020). 937 young people from 17 to 29 years participated (x= 22.38 S.D.=3.05). We found significant differences between the countries in emotional climate and expectations, but not in other indicators of current conditions. The obtaining of the sample was limited to young Internet users from the three countries (Ecuador, Spain, and Mexico). We suggest investing in future studies with scope and designs aimed at expanding the sample to young people from other social strata, as well as other Latin American countries. Significant contribution in the identification of the relationships between variables and that explain the perception of future expectations of young people. The results confirm how the contextual variables and related domains (personal and community) explain the perception of well-being in young people.
Keywords : youths; life conditions; life satisfaction; future expectations.
