Abstract

MAMANI MACEDO, Mauro. Contemporary Quechua Literature of Peru: Continuities and Openings in Poetry. Latinoamérica [online]. 2023, n.77, pp.133-162.  Epub Apr 19, 2024. ISSN 2448-6914.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cialc.24486914e.2023.77.57558.

The objective of this article is to present the thematic and formal continuities and openings in contemporary Quechua poetry. In Quechua poetry there is no systematization of the fertile contemporary production that shows a plurality of aspects. To do this, we first propose an introduction; then, the continuities are examined in a comparative way; Finally, the new thematic proposals arising from the impact of modernity and modernization are analyzed. We will use for the analysis the semiotics of culture (Semiosphere), Latin American studies (Contradictory Totality) and Andean categories (ayni, pachakuti). With this, we demonstrate that contemporary Quechua poetry feeds from two sources: the native tradition and the developments of modernity, which generate persistence and novelties in its representation.

Keywords : Literatures; Quechua; Andean; Systems; Memory.
