This article aims to reflect about some current epistemological problems of social sciences, based on texts written by Jorge Luis Borges. I propose analogies between a set of texts belonging to the writer and ontological problems (the relationship among the infinity and the order), methodological problems (different ways of knowing the diversity) and communication problems (language’s ability to transmit knowledge). Thirty years after the death of Borges, this work is also a tribute to the greatest Argentine writer.
