Resumen
MORA ORDONEZ, Edith. From the American Dream to the crumbled utopia: Four novels about immigration from Mexico to the U. S.. Latinoamérica [online]. 2012, n.54, pp.269-295. ISSN 2448-6914.
The phenomenon of the immigration towards the United States constitutes one of the common themes of the Latin-American contemporary narrative. The space in the four border novels that we study in this article, viewed from the approach of the cultural studies and the pragmatics of the literary communication, dialogues with the extraliterary social context on the migration of the Mexicans. Through the literary discourse, we realize an interpretation of the imaginarium on the prefigured Utopia of the American Dream where its crystallization inverts the myth: the unfortunate meeting with another marginal circle that repeats the same ruin from which they departed.
