Abstract

CASASA GARCIA, Patricia. Chicanos, boricuas y cubanos: las ficciones colectivas. Latinoamérica [online]. 2006, n.42, pp.153-178. ISSN 2448-6914.

Nowadays the main Chicano, Puerto Rican and Cuban American literary features, of men and women, are in search of selfdetermination and self-definition, along with a process of self-invention among several cultures. These features have a critical perspective that takes into consideration the historical traces, and the resulting vision is a theoretical discourse of the historical process regarding the person and the family in its more intimate moments and cognitive processes.

Keywords : Self-definition; Collective fiction; Chicano/Latino literature; Self-invention.
