Abstract

RUBIO HERRERA, Amada. Sexual and reproductive health: early pregnancy in rural women from the northwest of Yucatan. LiminaR [online]. 2024, vol.22, n.2, e1082.  Epub Feb 07, 2025. ISSN 2007-8900.  https://doi.org/10.29043/liminar.v22i2.1082.

In this article I analyze the perspective of rural women from the northwest of Yucatan on early pregnancy, placing their own experiences as a starting point and highlighting the significances and linked experiences. The ethnographic method allowed the generation of relevant dialogues and observations. The pregnancies occur in a context in which the young population does not always have tools for the enjoyment of sexuality, and regardless of the intentionality, they are experienced from solitude and isolation by women, without a solid support nor affection network. This continues after birth.

Keywords : Early pregnancy; rurality; experiences; health; sexuality.
