Resumen

MOYANO BARAHONA, Cristina  y  LOZOYA LOPEZ, Ivette. "Leftist intellectuals in Chile": From politicization to technocracy? Debates about the self and the political function of the intellectual between 1960 and 1990. Sig. his [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.41, pp.192-229.  Epub 03-Ago-2020. ISSN 1665-4420.

This article deals with the debates sustained by left-wing political scientists about their definition and their social political role. The aim is to analyze the self-definition they constructed from 1960 to 1980 in the context of the trauma represented by the 1973 military coup d'état, and thereof, reconsider how the redefinition processes impacted the delimitation of the realms of politics and political action. The hypothesis sustained in this article is that there emerged a new perception of the usually tense relationship between power and knowledge, and that the political role from the intellectuals was never forsaken.
