Abstract

HUERTA CUERVO, Rocío; RAMIREZ SOLIS, María Eugenia  and  VELA IBARRA, Citlalli Araceli. Evaluation of socio-emotional competencies of high school and higher education students. Innov. educ. (Méx. DF) [online]. 2024, vol.24, n.94, pp.36-53.  Epub Feb 21, 2025. ISSN 1665-2673.

This article presents the results of a research that evaluated the socio-emotional competencies (CSE) of high school and university at the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN). Derived from the application of a survey to a probabilistic sample of 405 students, an exploratory study was carried out that, through a quantitative strategy, identified their level of development, the empirical inte-rrelationships between the nine dimensions studied and the relevant variables in the CSE development process. The results identify gender differences in their development, as well as the relevance of expression, self-efficacy and empathy as predecessors of their optimistic condition of students. These results should guide the training processes in socio-emotional competencies within the school curriculum. This article is of interest to leaders of educational organizations and specialists on the subject.
