Resumen
ORGANISTA SANDOVAL, Javier y JORGE GASCA, Gabriela.
In a university context permeated by digital technologies, digital culture has different meanings, therefore, this document aims to characterize the digital culture of university teachers using a questionnaire with quantitative and free response questions. The random sample size was 179 with a population of 331 and the application of the questionnaire was carried out with Google forms. The findings showed a mature teaching staff, with an interquartile range for ages between 38 and 54 years, with gender balance. About 80 % have a doctorate, but only 10 % are technologically oriented. All teachers have a computer for their work and the majority expressed pleasure in the use of technology. Digital identity is shaped by the teacher’s experiences in their digital environment, but difficulties were found in the precision of digital culture, detecting the need to promote the internalization of digital technologies to mediate educational practices.
