Resumen
COTA VALENZUELA, Laura Violeta y BELTRAN-SANCHEZ, Jesus Alfonso.
The objective is to determine the metrics properties of four sub-scales that measure research competency of Mexican university faculty. This study was conducted with a sample of 124 teach ers from a Mexican university, women and man with 40.56 mean age. The instrument used is a version of Swank & Lambie (2016) adapted, modified and previously submitted to piloting and content validity. The findings show that the four scales has the metrics nec essaries to measure the research competency: 1. Research methods (x2 = 4645.39, df = 351, p = .001; KMO = .90; 75 % variance explicated); 2. Literature review (x2 = 558.95, df = 21, p = .001; KMO = .80; 53 % variance explicated); 3. Research ethics (x2 = 1144.81, df = 21, p = .001; KMO = .91; 81 % variance explicated); 4. Writing and disseminate research (x2 = 724.9, df = 10, p = .001; KMO = .89; 82 % variance explicated). It is recommendable a confirmatory factorial analysis and considerate other dimensions associated with research competency.
