Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze perceptions of teachers and stu dents about educational trips and identify types of learning that are promoted, roles of the participants and favorable and hindering con ditions of the proposals. A qualitative study was carried out in which 89 people (20 teachers and 69 students) from educational institutions of primary, middle and higher level in Río Cuarto (Argentina). An interviews and anecdotal descriptions were used as data collection instruments. The results highlight the positive implications in learn ing, the diversity and complexity of available knowledge, and the possibility of direct contact with the object of study. The importance of teachers as mediators and the role of motivations, emotions and emerging interactions in travel are highlighted. From the analysis, travel typologies were constructed. Educational trips expand the pos sibilities of learning and generate innovative teaching experiences.
